Change can be scary because it often involves stepping outside of our comfort zones and facing the unknown. Our brains are wired to seek familiarity and routine, so when that is disrupted by change, even positive change, it can trigger feelings of uncertainty, anxiety, and fear. Additionally, change can bring about a sense of loss or leaving behind what is familiar and safe, which can be unsettling for many people.
